SEASON · JULY TO OCTOBER
The whales
come to Panama.
The Gulf of Panama is one of very few places on earth where northern and southern humpbacks both gather. They come to calve and raise their young in warm, protected water, and from July to October you can see them from our boat, on a private trip that always keeps the legal distance.
FROM THE DECK
The catch is
only half of it.
Big fish make good photos. Good boat days make the stories your group keeps telling.

PANAMA FISHING GUIDE
The best plan
is the right water.
Panama offers more than one kind of fishing day. Your captain connects the route to your group, the season and the experience you actually want.
GOOD TO KNOW
Plan less.
Ask better.
Every charter is private and shaped around you. Start with these questions, then send us your date and the kind of day you want.
Do I need fishing experience?
No. The day adapts to first timers, families, experienced crews or a mix of all three. The captain and mate show you how to cast, troll and work the rod as the day goes.
Can we fish and still visit Taboga or stop to swim?
Yes. Every charter is private, so you can mix fishing, island time, a swim stop and lunch on board. Tell us how you want to balance the day and we will suggest the right route.
What is included in the charter?
Professional captain, crew, fishing gear, fuel, ice, water and dock fees. Catering and the on-board grill are quoted separately based on group size.
What should we bring?
Sunscreen, a cap, polarized sunglasses, a light layer, a towel and swimwear if you plan to swim. Exact details are confirmed over WhatsApp before departure.
What happens if the weather changes?
Safety comes first. The captain checks sea and wind conditions and recommends the safest option: change the route, shorten the trip or reschedule the date at no cost.
When is the best time to fish in Panama?
Panama fishes year round. The dry season, December through April, brings the calmest seas and the best visibility. From May to November the water turns more productive for big offshore species.
How many people fit on board?
Shark Tours Panama runs private charters planned around small groups. Message us with your exact group size and we will confirm capacity and the boat setup.
